FORUM

The forum feature is currently disconnected. Too many vandal-bots crawl the web looking for easy code to scrawl their puerile marks on. Their defacements are automated. The effort of maintaining the forum detracts from our real work, so please feel free to visit Local Joy instead. Local Joy is is an active bilingual web community that has sprung up recently in Changchun. At Local Joy you can find and connect with many interesting people, share news and views, upload pictures, book activities, chat, or organise your own activities. Local Joy is an independent coding effort of a couple of doctoral students at North East Normal University and is rather well done, egalitarian in outlook, very community minded without even trying. TeamBridge thoroughly recommends Local Joy.

Another web portal you might consider is Changchun Friends. Changchun Friends is an effort by a tight little group of teachers at the Raffles School for Fabulously Wealthy Young Persons who started out in a similar manner some time after TeamBridge. They have the aforementioned well organised to connect with as many interesting and interested people (almost all exclusively moneyed foreigners) as they can. They do little shows often around town, all of them well worth getting in on, if you can. They also publish a little magazine. Nice effort. Deserves support. Not sure yet if it is an independent effort (Local Joy is actually an authorised product of the state organ) or just a good idea that is going well. It will be a great pity to see all the good work they have done go to waste if the Raffles school management comes to the conclusion that their recruitment drive has exceeded expectations. The Raffles school has a long history of organising activities, the TeamBridge duty manager has had the pleasure to attend some of them back in the days when they were based in the Swiss Bell Hotel.
