The signals originate from deep outer space and have been traveling toward Earth for an estimated 2000 years.
Lensed by a giant red star, the radio signals have been bent into focus on our solar system through natural process.
Special software is being developed in New Zealand and China to decode and translate the often garbled signals into comprehensible English.
"We are stunned, staggered and amazed," says Professor Alma Grenfell, the Director of Operations of the signal analysis team for the YARN radio telescope that is still concealed near the dome canopy of the Waihopai Surveillance Station near Marlborough in New Zealand's South Island.
Information recently released by a reliable source reveals that these
signals were first intercepted at Waihopai, a strategic Ministry of
Defence facility, over twenty years ago.
